Depart hotel 9.30am

10am – Fremantle – Convicts, Culture & Street Art Walking Tour (2 hours)

Fremantle is Perth’s hip and historical cousin with streets full of heritage buildings, cafés, street art and amazing stories waiting to be shared.

Starting at the Fremantle Town Hall, this walking tour is no boring history lesson, but rather takes a non-traditional route, discovering factual, anecdotal, and downright fascinating local stories, all as you wander Freo’s vibrant cappuccino strip, boat harbour, narrow West End streets and see the landmarks, including the Fremantle Prison and the Roundhouse.

Once home to whaling stations and mass immigration, Freo is now a charming town celebrated for its variety of culture and multicultural history. The locals here were as hard as nails salty sea dogs who rubbed shoulders with newly arrived immigrants to create a town full of characters – some of who’s stories you’ll be amazed to hear about from your local guide!

You’ll hear tales from prisoner escapes and convict antics to the expulsion of Indigenous peoples to Rottnest Island. Find out why almost 10,000 men were transported from Great Britain and Ireland, how they built their own prison and helped shape the future of Western Australia. There is no better way to explore Freo than with a local guide to share all its fascinating stories and visit the amazing sites, of which there are many, if you hadn’t guessed!

After completion of our walking tour we will arrive to the Fremantle markets, you will have an hour to wander and have some lunch before heading to our next shopping destination E- shed, where you will have some more free time before enjoying a relaxing sound healing session.

3.15 4.45 – Sound Healing at the Fremantle Yoga centre with Julian from Sound Alchemy, (a little afternoon nap!) Julian uses a variety of sound modalities and techniques in order to restore the body’s vibration to its natural harmony and balance.

Each part of our body, including the chakras, resonates at different frequencies. A variety of sounds are played into and around the body in order to cleanse, tune and restore the person to their optimal state of vibration. We are made of light (energy) and sound (vibration), and the experiential process of sound healing reintegrates and recalibrates these aspects back into healthy alignment.

Sound healing is an incredibly peaceful and soothing experience, effectively we are tuning ourselves to source, both to the universe around us and the universe within.

Health Benefits:

Eliminates Stress, Soothing and Calming

Heightens states of Well being, Energizing

Pain Relieving, Improves Sleep

Boosts Immune System, Detoxifies on a Cellular Level

Cleanses, balances and harmonizes the chakra system

While strolling between venues, you will be guided to interested spaces to discover art, heritage buildings and stories of some influential people in Perth’s history before arriving for the next course.

Over the course of the evening, in a small group, you will visit 3 of the finer restaurants to indulge in an entrée, main course and desert, plus drinks, amongst historic settings (venues vary from night to night).

The Edenvale Tea Rooms offer quality food in an indoor or alfresco setting among stunning gardens and heritage buildings that make up the Precinct including the Liveringa Art Gallery, Roger May Machinery Museum and Murray Arts & Crafts.

2pm – Lake Clifton Thrombolites – Living rock-like structures known as thrombolites have formed on the edges of Lake Clifton and can be viewed from a boardwalk.

The most striking things about the thrombolites are their limestone colour and rounded shape. The thrombolite-building micro-organisms are too small for the human eye to see and resemble the earliest forms of life on Earth. The discovery of modern examples helped scientists to understand the significance of micro-organisms in the environment and unravel the long history of life on Earth.

Scientists know little about the thrombolites and why they form at Lake Clifton, but one theory is that they form because the lake is associated with upwellings of fresh groundwater that is high in calcium carbonate. The micro-organisms living in this environment can precipitate calcium carbonate from the waters as they photosynthesise, forming the mineralised structure that is the thrombolite. Lake Clifton’s thrombolites are very fragile, so an observation walkway has been built for visitors to enjoy these incredible formations while protecting them from damage.

Lakeside Loop Walktrail. A 5km, 2 hours return walktrail explores the eastern shoreline of Lake Clifton. It is suitable for most ages and fitness levels. *If you are not up for the walk bring a book or there may be a winery close by 😉

The Busselton Jetty is home to one of only six underwater observatories in the world!

Ride the new electric Jetty Train 1.7km out to sea, with 360 degree views across Geographe Bay, and take a tour through the Underwater Observatory at the end of the Jetty. Our experienced guides lead you through the natural wonders that lie beneath the jetty where its piles create Australia’s greatest artificial reef, host to an awe inspiring “forest” of vividly-coloured tropical and sub-tropical corals, sponges, fish and invertebrates.

Descend 8 metres beneath the water’s surface to view more than 300 individual marine species in their natural habitat through eleven viewing windows at various levels within a 9.5 metre diameter observation chamber.

Each year during autumn and winter, the Leeuwin Current brings a narrow band of warm water down the Western Australian coastline. This warm southerly current is responsible for introducing an incredibly diverse array of tropical and sub-tropical species into Geographe Bay, resulting in coral growth at a latitude of 33 degrees south. This is a remarkable phenomenon when compared to the western coastlines of other southern hemisphere continents such as Africa and South America which have no coral growth below 5 degrees south.

Access to the Underwater Observatory is only possible via a tour which includes a complimentary return Jetty Train ride, a 40-minute guided tour of the Observatory and surrounds with an experienced guide and a Jetty Day Pass.

Gracetown – Afterwards we will drive along the coast stopping along the way at Flutes Restaurant overlooking the river, modern Australian cuisine for lunch *self-pay. Then onto the iconic surf town, Gracetown, for a walk along the beach and some shopping.

Today you have two options as not everyone enjoys wine and beer and also some people get seasick so may not like the whale watching option. If neither of these take your fancy why not have a relaxing day at the resort, hire the bikes for a ride, grab a friend for a game of tennis or just relax by the pool.

8am – Gentle yoga class with Tammie on the grass bring your mat if you wish to participate

11am – Margaret River wine and Beer Tour – or 1.15pm – Whale Watching tour – Your choice

Option 1 – Today we visit one of the world’s most innovative, award-winning wine and beer makers who are waiting to greet you amongst beautifully manicured settings across the Margaret River wine region.

It’s a wine lovers delight as you smell, swirl and taste your day away at boutique wineries with family and friends. Wine connoisseurs can leave with bottles of their favourite drop that are only available for purchase at the cellar door.

Beer lovers will quench their thirst and send their taste buds into meltdown, sipping all the frothy flavours from local breweries around the region on tour.

The Tour Includes:

Gourmet lunch included & served at a boutique brewery.

Enjoy cold beer & cider tasting over lunch.

You’ll enjoy premium wine tasting at three venues.

Cheese tasting to delight your palate.

A sweet touch of Chocolate tasting.

Visit a variety of cellar doors and wineries throughout the Margaret River region.

Some of the venues we visit include (but are not restricted to): Tassell Park, Brookwood Estate, Evans & Tate Wines, Hayshed Hill, Burch Family Wines, Fermoy Estate, Flametree Wines, Swings & Roundabouts, Windance Estate Wines, Churchview Estate, Amelia Park, Bootleg Brewery, Black Brewing Co, The Beer Farm, Colonial Brewing Co., Cheeky Monkey Brewery & Cidery, The Brewhouse, Bush Shack Brewery, and more.

Option 2 – 1.15pm – Whale Watching Option (Please note you cannot guarantee you will see whales)

Our tours will depart from the Busselton Jetty at 1:15pm. From there we will take you out into the pristine waters of Busselton to see these lovable giants up close.

After breeding in the warmer waters up north, there will be 35,000 Humpbacks and their calves heading south to Arctic waters. The whales use Geographe Bay as their last resting area before the long swim. We have found them very playful in previous years and cannot wait to see what 2021 can produce.

The Bay also provides a resting area for Southern Right whales. Additionally, 28 Blue whales were spotted last year cruising south after their trip to the Rottnest trench to feed. These giants where surprisingly close to shore and cruising at 8 knots.

7pm – Dinner if we can fit it in and you ares still awake at the hotel!
