Step through the doorway to your own private paradise

You don’t have to fly all the way to Latin America for a tropical island salsa holiday ….

This retreat includes daily lessons of salsa and bachata with dance instructor, Made Lasia. Combining pampering and cultural activities, we indulge in a 4 hour spa treatment, take walks in the rice paddies, attend optional yoga classes, participate in a spiritual experience when we visit the water temple for purification, take a sightseeing tour of Ubud, and last but not least participate in an Agni Hotra fire ceremony and 3 course raw food dinner at Five Elements.

What better way to meet the local people than to dance with them. This retreat is for men, women and couples who love to dance. Suitable for beginners or experienced dancers who wish to take their dance practice to the next level. Daily dance classes in Bachata and Salsa will offer a sassy and sublime holiday experience.

Your Retreat Leader Angela McColl (Angie) loves salsa, self-development and South America. Her passion for travelling enables her to embrace life through experiencing different cultures and customs. Angie loves having fun and being present to appreciate the opportunities life offers. You can call Angie if you have any questions regarding this retreat on 0406628541.

Not only will you have the best dance instructors in Bali, (Made Lasia and team who have run Bali Salsa for over 10 years) you will become a part of a community of Soul Salsa Dancers, friends for life. Dance classes will take place at our own private dance studio located within our accommodation.

SALSA is one of the most popular Latin dance forms with origins from Cuba, as the meeting point of Spanish (European) and African cultures.

It is danced throughout the world and has become a global phenomenon. Salsa is normally a partner dance, and is usually improvised on the dance floor, or it can also be performed with a set choreography for entertainment purposes.

Today’s Salsa dancing is a rich blend of Latin-American and Western influences, as there are many styles of Salsa dancing out there. Be warned: it is highly addictive.

BACHATA is a partner dance that originated in the Dominican Republic, but is now danced around the world. The music is romantic and sensual, and has developed along with the dance, from traditional Dominican Bachata to urban and modern Bachata.

Dance Shoes: There is the opportunity to have dance shoes made or to purchase some new shoes.  If you are interested, this can be arranged at the beginning of the dance retreat with the dance instructor and your shoes will be ready to wear before the end of the retreat.

*Minimum Dance Requirement needed – some Salsa and or Bachata required

Your accommodation is a small friendly and cozy Guest House in the heart of the island, away from the bustling tourist area and traffic congestion, located in a quiet traditional Balinese village, however is just a 20 minute drive from bustling Ubud.

Here we are tucked away in a private paradise and you will enjoy morning sleep ins, walks or meditation, followed by a yummy breakfast and then our first dance class of the day. Afternoons are for exploring and spa treatments and evenings are for totally letting your hair down.
