Hi and welcome! I am a Australian-based Social Worker, Yoga, Mindfulness and Nia dance teacher, Retreat Facilitator, Trainer and Travel Guide.
I am the founder of Vibrant Women. A job that enables me to pursue everything that makes my heart sing, (this is code for getting free holidays and making new friends).
Addicted to travel, ice-cream and coffee. Lover of massages, sleeping in, sunsets, sarongs, sweet musings, star gazing, day dreaming, aromatherapy, nature and belly laughs.
I believe in giving back and meaningful interactions.
I am committed to supporting women to stay Vibrant in a world that can sometimes feel as though it is dulling your sparkle.
I spend my days planning the next great escape we can take together.
I can’t wait to adventure with you ….. xx
A little bit of history
For over 20 years I worked in the community sector as a social worker/counsellor. For several years I worked in the area of homelessness in Australia and Scotland before returning home to work for an NGO’s supporting young people also at risk of homelessness. I then moved to a counselling role for Relationships Australia focusing predominately on supporting couples and families and I also worked part time for several years counselling at a Womens Heath Centre.
In 2009 my partner joined the Australian Airforce which created the opportunity for me to rethink my career. I was feeling depleted in my current roles and could not imagine looking for a new job at each new posting, (approximately every three years) so this seemed the perfect time for a change in direction. I decided to take 6 months off work to renovate a newly bought house and complete my masters in Social Work.
During this time I started to explore my passions, and what I wanted to spend the second half of my life doing, (apart from recovering from all the shenanigans I got up to in the first half!) I came up with a list that looked a bit like this – do more yoga and meditation, work with women, travel and make enough money to be able to give back. So when I packaged this up, yup you guessed it, it looks a lot like a retreat! So I started my retreat business in March 2011. I launched Vibrant Women on my birthday, figuring the best gift I could give myself is was new life! Since then I haven’t really looked back, I’ve been blessed with bookings and lots of repeat guests and I’m so grateful to everyone who has supported me.
In 2015 women started asking me to expand my business to include sight seeing tours to inspiring places and where possible to include some of the cultural and spiritual practices of the people we were visiting and maybe also some components of a retreat if time and location permitted, ie a bit of yoga or meditation, an afternoon off to visit the hammam and have massage, a short workshop on Buddhism etc.
So nine years on and I’m loving my life more that ever. My retreats and inspirational journeys have taken me to places I never could have imagined, Morocco, Egypt, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Vanuatu, Bali, India, Fiji, Thailand …… but more importantly they have provided me with unforgettable experiences, fun, friendship, personal growth and just being totally awestruck at the beauty and craziness of the world, the world really is an amazing place and I don’t think I’ll ever run out of places to explore, physically and personally, I see my life truly as an adventure.
