We are gathering together at beautiful Mount Alford, part of the Scenic Rim in South East Queensland to connect with nature and ourselves.
You are invited to join!
Re-Awakening the senses is an important step for any true healing, psychological well-being or spiritual development. This means using the senses to recognise the light, beauty and bliss in the world of nature around us. This reclaiming of the senses for the inner light is one of the greatest tasks for humanity today. However, it requires a radical movement of the mind away from the mass media realm and back to the cavern of the heart. During this retreat you are invited to step through that doorway, the doorway to true perception and connection.
The five senses are the key instruments that we have in life to perceive the world and make our way within it. How we use them determines how our lives will unfold; whether towards health or disease, creativity or stagnation, enlightenment or ignorance. Learning to use our senses correctly is one of the main skills that we need in order to master our existence and experience life in the optimal manner possible for us.
Our outer activities revolve around the messages that the senses convey to us and how we respond to them. Our culminating experiences of pleasure and pain, happiness and sorrow depend upon the acuity of our senses and their range of function. Our minds orient themselves according to the information that the senses bring in, which becomes the basis for building our thoughts, emotions and imagination. The senses provide the nourishment of impressions through which the mind is either made calm or disturbed.
This retreat is the perfect gateway for deepening our connection to ourselves and others. As a circle of kindred souls we will open ourselves to creating a caring space to relax and rejuvenate through nature, yoga, music, play, mindfulness, joy, and quiet moments of contemplation.

“Hi Tammie, Thank-you for a wonderful week and for sharing your insight with all of us. Your warm, calm and funny approach was so relatable. The information you shared is adding so much to my life and I can’t put into words just how grateful I am. I am doing daily meditations and my morning walk has gone from another opportunity to beat myself up to a mindful and relaxing walk taking in all the blessings laying out in front of me. My dog is happier too, as I let her sniff the trees and posts for longer than I used to. I have bought mindfulness in to everything I do and the love and confidence I’m feeling is undebatable. I am more connected, focused and life has slowed down. I am no longer doing everything with a tight heart.” Sue 2015
“The retreat and training was presented in a practical, humorous and down to earth way in which I could relate too. I also loved being with like minded people for a week, and value the friendships that I have gained from the retreat. I have my vision board on my fridge and loved this exercise during the retreat. It is a daily reminder of what I have gained and want to impart into my life moving forward. Thank you so much for such a beautiful week – I was truly blessed by this experience. I cannot tell you how much I needed this and how good it was for my soul. Words will never do this justice :-).” Karen 2015
“The location was amazing, a beautiful country setting, so peaceful and quiet and I could hear the cows mooing at night – lovely ! Had no trouble finding the place and it was a beautiful relaxing drive so it gets you in the right headspace even before you arrive. Scrupulously clean and very comfortable accommodation – great pillows. Breakfast sitting on the patio soaking up the amazing views and the peace and being visited by a bunny – perfect !
The food was amazing: plentiful and delicious and the staff were friendly.
It was a great bunch of women who all seemed to ‘jell’ together and get into the spirit of the weekend and to top it off, Tammie the facilitator is experienced, funny (love the travel stories) , knowledgeable and organized so the whole weekend just flowed.
Being a counselor myself and working in community services the mindfulness concept wasn’t new to me but I still enjoyed the sessions and got so much out of it and practical applications so I Can Do It !!
Having a bad back relieved by the restorative yoga, even though I couldn’t manage all the poses the ones I could do helped and have reaffirmed my need to do this practice regularly.
Completing an art collage of my ‘wishes” from the weekend and how I can do this in my life one step at a time. Step one: book further retreats !!” – Judi 2015
“Great accommodation, yummy food, loved the juicing machine, swimming pool, butterflies and coffee xx Wonderful meditations, yoga, dance and videos!” – Ildika 2016
“The accommodation package was good value for money – well-appointed rooms, excellent food and friendly staff. The location itself is very peaceful and this added to the experience.” – Anne 2016
